Hey folks,
Welcome to everyone who joined the newsletter recently!
It’s been a while since we listened to electronic music, so I decided to introduce you to one of my favorite bands, ODESZA. Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight formed the group in 2012 and have consistently released studio albums, collabs, singles, and remixes.
This 2014 track has an ambient, down-tempo quality to it. There are the sounds of children playing, their laughter echoing into the distance. We can see a setting sun and crimson horizons in our mind’s eye; the children go home after a long day of play.
The track is named after the guitarist Sean Kusanagi, who is also friends with Mills and Knight.
In fact, if you enjoy this track, you should check out the episode of Song Exploder where the band discusses their inspiration and the vocal samples they used.
It’s a wonderful way to start your week. See you back on Friday!

Nice track, Nikhil. relaxing to listen to before I start my work day :)
So. I’m at Indian Lake for the weekend, drifting off to sleep in the upstairs loft. The fog has settled in. Through the skylight, the night breeze on my skin and loons calling goodnight. Air thick with the last embers of our campfire.
