Hey folks,
Welcome to six months of What’s Curation? But first, a word from our sponsor.
Me.
Hire me as your copywriter & let’s grow your email newsletter!
So, you’re contemplating hiring Nikhil.
Congratulations—if this works out, your life is about to get significantly better.
When I read Nikhil’s writing, I can only grin and admire his work. He’s a clear communicator, an artful storyteller, and a masterful sentence builder.
Read his writing, and you’ll see what I mean.— Sara Rosinsky, copywriter at Shiny Red Copy.
You should hire me because I’ll teach you how to write:
Attractive, genuine headlines that spark curiosity
A simple, yet effective “About” page for your newsletter
Consistent content creation strategies when you’re plumb out of ideas
Emails that will bond you with your readers, improve engagement and paid conversion over the long run (or when you decide to go paid)
You’ve seen the magic here and the organic engagement from our community.

Guests and Interviews
Among our many readers: an Australian author, a Kiwi musician, American copywriters, airline operators and nutritionists, a Canadian portfolio manager, a Baltic vinyl record collector, and an Indian digital marketer who recently landed in Canada. Tell me in the comments where you’re from and what you do! 🙂
This month, I created two new sections. Posts under ‘Guests’ will be from collaborators on Substack written in the style of What’s Curation?—i.e., a song recommendation with a nice write-up. It helps introduce our audiences to more writers! Leo Mascaro gave us a wonderful song from Brazil.
Posts under ‘Interviews’ will be email interviews with friends, artists, and occasionally, subscribers of What’s Curation? They’ll be about their careers, aspirations, and track choice for the day. We had the wonderful Sara Rosinsky—friend, mentor, annual subscriber, and unabashed typeface enthusiast. And we also bagged an interview with the talented creatives behind J Block.
For September, I’m personally reaching out to people for these sections, but I hope to formalize the process with a form in the future. What’s Curation? is starting to get famous!
Big Discount Sale
Ka-ching, ka-ching! I had a week-long sale and put a lot of work into crafting a beautiful post detailing the benefits of upgrading to an annual subscription. Thank you to those who upgraded—it tells me that I’m on the right path. You can still upgrade to monthly or yearly, but y’all just missed the sale!
Digital Marketing
I’ve been making my own ads on Canva and advertising What’s Curation? on LinkedIn. I’ll make a separate post next month and attach a few. That way, I’ll also have a link to share as a portfolio. What genius, Nikhil! 😤
I also ordered business cards from Jukebox that came in the mail!
“The music recommendation newsletter with a human touch, twice a week.”
And the best part: I created a custom Google Analytics campaign URL and created a QR code from that. So, when I hand these out or pin them up on public notice boards, or coffee shop bulletin boards, and someone scans the QR code, I’ll know someone did so. Not bad, eh?
Intention for September 2022
Continue being a welcome, positive addition to your inbox. Get on discovery calls with you to help you take your newsletter to the next level!
Thanks again! And that’s Month 6.
-Nikhil.
Do it folks, hire this guy!
