A letter to a bro
Today’s post is dedicated to my childhood friend, V.
V and I were in different classrooms in high school; he was in Section A and I in Section B. But we’d hang out during snack and lunch breaks and talk about video games, or about the music cassettes we were saving up for.
We’ve known each other for 20 years and Dancing in the Moonlight remains one of his favorite tracks to this day. The video reminds me of a wispy, dream-like trance state where the lights are dimmed, friends come over for dinner, and everyone is just happy in each other’s company.
Did you and your best buddy from high school have a classic song that you remember fondly still? Let me know in the comments!
See you next week!

This is a cool cover! Never heard it before. It’s pretty true to King Harvest’s original, but I like the spin they put on it.
I cannot convey how much I love your musical selections! I use each song you share as a warm-up/meditation before writing. Close my eyes as it plays and visualize the scene, mood or character the music evokes. Then, I write it all out. A great way to start my writing day.
This scene involved a gazebo high on a hill overlooking a lake. Fireflies flickering in the sky, a handful of low-hung stars. A sticky glass of champagne. An old woman spinning across the lawn in a floral sundress, her silver hair caught in a moonbeam.
