Ha, I knew Frankie was Sinatra, but didn't know they were related. I also remember this as one of the first songs I really really liked. I must have been 10 or 11 when I first heard it. It sounded so different to anything else I had ever listened to.
I'm not sure I knew about Jon's familial connection to Sinatra, Nikhil! Did you know that Jon's cousin, Tony Bongiovi (pronounced how Jon has phonetically spelled his name) has a long list of production credits over the decades?
Tony's zenith, for my tastes, came when he produced my 2 favorite Ramones albums, "Leave Home" and (particularly) "Rocket to Russia." But, he's also produced albums by Sire Records label-mates, Talking Heads, Gloria Gaynor, Aerosmith, and many more!
As I care absolutely nothing about Jon's musical career and/or mundane output, I may actually do a dive of sorts into Tony's interesting and prodigious career.........unless you beat me to it, that is! Feel free!πΆπ΅π
No, no, Brad, by all means, you have first dibs on that, haha!
I'm not a fan of their later albums, but Crush was amazing: a great mix of romantic rock (Thank you for loving me) and Americana blues (Two Story Town). I promise to listen to Rocket to Russia if you can listen to Two Story Town on this album. π
